This book began when our assisted living group welcomed a new resident. He was from Minnesota. I asked if anyone knew the nickname of Minnesota. One man who had visited Minnesota knew the answer. We asked him about his visit. He enjoyed reminiscing. That evening I went to the local library and check out a couple books on the state, wrote questions and we had a unit on Minnesota. The new resident was pleased that we were interested in him. He was welcomed to the community. The writer continued doing to welcome new residents and this book is the result.
