The wood is very dense and resinous and, for this reason, they will not rot but will erode like stone due to wind, rain and freezing. Unusual shapes result as one would find in stone that has eroded.

Don't plant one unless you plan to stay around for a couple thousands of years to see it grow and enjoy it.
